Find Hidden Opportunities With The New HubSpot Connector For ChatGPT

Want deeper insights from your CRM data?

Big news: you can now use HubSpot from inside ChatGPT, and it's the first (and currently only) CRM platform with this functionality. That’s a huge move, both for brand visibility and for marketers like us who use AI daily.

If you're already using ChatGPT? Your strategy sessions just got way smarter.

 

Why it Matters

You can now ask ChatGPT questions like:

  • "Which personas converted fastest in the last 90 days?"
  • "Which of my accounts have the highest churn risk?"
  • "Which deals are most likely to close this month?"

…and get real answers pulled straight from your HubSpot account (if you're on a paid plan).

 

How to Get Started

The setup is easy.  You’ll just need to be on a ChatGPT Plus plan (or higher):

 

1. Head to your ChatGPT settings.


2. Click “Connectors.”

 

3. Choose HubSpot from the list of Connectors, then click “Connect”.

 

4. Click “Continue to HubSpot.”

 

5. Choose your HubSpot account.

 

All set up? Let’s test it.

Now for the fun part. 

 

Head to your chat panel and select “Tools”, then “Run deep research”.

 

Under “sources,” toggle HubSpot on.

 

Research away to your heart’s content.

 

Use Case: Identify Fast-Converting Personas

I tried one of HubSpot’s suggested prompts, "Identify fast-converting personas", and wow, did it deliver.

Identify the personas that converted fastest from lead to customer in the last 90 days. Recommend key attributes to target in future campaigns, then use the insights to build a lookalike audience or launch a persona-based sequence in HubSpot.

ChatGPT searched our CRM and summarized which contacts converted the fastest over the last 90 days, grouped by both role and industry.  No more manual data diving, phew!

It even surfaced first-touch and last-touch conversions, and suggested how I could segment these personas into lists, possible nurture sequences, and targeting strategies we could use to expand our reach. My inner nerd was doing a happy dance.

 

 

Bummer that it can’t actually build the lists or workflows (read-only access for now, see below), but the strategic lift is rad. 

 

Heads up (here’s what it can’t do…yet).

  • It won’t remember your preferences, so you’ll need to re-select HubSpot as a source for each new question, which is kind of a pain, but not the end of the world.
  • It can’t take actions within HubSpot (no building lists, emails, or workflows).
  • It won't work at ludicrous speed. Some requests take several minutes, so go ahead and unload your dishwasher or grab your morning brew while it does its research.
